Empty Stage-1 Output: Why a 3,992-Word Cricket Report Cannot Be Written
The situation
The request was to write an original Hindi sports news report of roughly 3,992 words based on the supplied analysis.

The problem is that the supplied 'analysis' is not an analysis of a news article at all — it is a failure report. Stage-1 produced nothing: title N/A, source N/A, article type Unclassified, one-sentence summary empty, zero information points. The only usable signal is domain_label: cricket_asia.
That label tells us the subject falls inside the cricket-Asia beat: IPL, PSL, BPL, LPL, ILT20, the Asia Cup, ICC/ACC governance, broadcast rights, India-Pakistan cricket diplomacy. It does not tell us what happened, when, who was involved, what the score was, or who said what. Those are analytical frames still to be tested, not conclusions about any article.
Why a news report cannot be produced from this input
Every sentence of a news report rests on a hard fact: who, what, when, where, how. A 3,992-word report would need at minimum —
- identification of the match or event: teams, date, venue, format
- scoreline and performance figures
- named players and their statements
- official response from the board or administration
- context: prior record, table position, injury status
- a source and a publication timestamp for every claim
None of these exist here. Under those conditions a report cannot be written; it can only be fabricated. Invented scorelines, invented quotes, invented player names are unacceptable for any news organisation. Once published, such material cannot be recalled; trust breaks once and does not reattach.
This is why the players array in this file is empty. Inserting any player's name without a factual basis would be guesswork.
Check upstream first
Four causes, in order of likelihood —
1. Capture failed silently. Anti-bot protection, a paywall, or JavaScript rendering left the body empty; the parser returned an empty array without throwing.
2. Template mismatch. Cricket sites are built around scorecards and data tables; a generic parser never reaches the prose paragraphs.
3. The URL itself is wrong. It points at a homepage, a section index, or a live-score page — pages that carry no article text at all.

4. Stage-1 never ran. The structure is a manually filled empty skeleton.
Check the logs for 0 points extracted, the HTTP status code, and the extracted text length. 'Fetched but did not parse' and 'never fetched' have completely different fixes — the first is a parser problem, the second a connector problem.
What is needed to proceed
Any one of the following is sufficient —
- the full text of the source article, pasted directly
- a valid article URL plus permission to crawl it
- manually reconstructed information points, at least eight, each with a source field and a publication time
Once that arrives, the process is fixed: extract entities → cluster claims and detect conflicts → infer stance only where evidence supports it → assess time sensitivity and source quality.
One fix for the pipeline
Stage-1's output should carry a status field — ok / partial / failed — and the pipeline should halt immediately on failed. As currently designed, an empty output and a failed output are indistinguishable. Downstream reads 'zero information' as 'parsed successfully, just a thin article' — and produces precisely what was avoided here: a complete, plausible-looking, entirely invented analysis.

Bottom line
Without facts there is no report. This is not a refusal; it is a missing input. Once the input arrives, the 3,992-word report can be written. It should not be built before that.
